This weekend was one of the most enjoyable I’ve had, so far, since moving to South Korea! I got to hangout with some really cool people. Spent an entire night dancing and visited the museum. If only you could see how I’m still beaming, with joy, from the experience. I know I’ve expressed, in previous posts, how much I enjoy visiting museums and learning about African history but I feel compelled to express it again. The way to my heart is through art!
To be more specific, I went to Busan, a large port city to the East of Changwon. It’s about a 45 minute drive without traffic. It was hosting the Fireworks Festival, at Gwangalli Beach, and I’d heard these fireworks were supposed to be pretty wicked plus I could finally visit the Busan Museum of Art for the Biennale.
The beach was extremely crowded, and there was quite a bit of shoving, but the fireworks were the coolest fireworks I’ve ever witnessed so it was all worth it. As for the museum, although, it was Dana Luxembourg’s display of Imperial Court that drew me to the Biennale I thoroughly enjoyed all of the other installations from various artists as well. Keep scrolling to see pictures from the museum, a few from the Fireworks Festival, and a couple from my night out.
